Steven Radlo, Ph.D.
Visiting Professor
As a professor for students and a mental performance enhancement specialist for student-athletes, I’ve always followed my motto of, “I’m here for you, you’re not here for me”, meaning I will do whatever it takes to see to it that students achieve academic success and student-athletes reach their athletic potential. I believe students should be able to learn in an unintimidating environment, feeling free to openly discuss subject matter in class and being able to approach me without feelings of apprehension.
Biography
I was born in Ontario, Canada and ventured to the University of Florida to earn a Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. specializing in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior. My first teaching job was as a professor at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. Little did I know, I would spend 26 years there until retiring in the summer of 2024. Fifteen days after retirement, I was officially hired on at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË as a visiting professor in the Exercise Science Department. So much for retirement! But I am glad I am here at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË because I can’t imagine myself being anywhere else… and not engaging in such great students and faculty! I have also been a mental performance enhancement specialist for various athletes and student-athletes for the past 30 years. Now I am sharing my specialty with the student-athletes here at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË.
