Academic Adjustments That May Not Be Appropriate
To determine an appropriate academic adjustment, »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË's Student Disability Services professionals will review your request based on the essential requirements for the relevant program. It is important to remember that »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË is not required to lower or waive essential requirements.
Examples that generally may not be deemed appropriate academic adjustments could include:
- Unlimited time on tests
- Breaks during tests
- Fewer numbers of items on tests or assignments
- Less rigorous content on tests or assignment items
- Other changes in the essential requirements of a class or program
- NOTE: Appropriate academic adjustments are effective from the date the Accommodation Plan is issued forward, and are not retroactive
