C.V. McClurg Scholarship

Created to provide the most dedicated and talented students an opportunity to study at one of the nation’s best private colleges, our Prestige Scholarships allow recipients the freedom to pursue their studies unencumbered by financial concerns.

Students applying for the C.V. McClurg Scholarship will complete the . Applications have two possible deadline dates. The priority application date is November 1, and applications are due no later than January 3.

To Be Considered, Candidates Must:

  • Be entering »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË as a first-time freshman.
  • Be admitted to »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË by the application deadline.
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Earn a 29 ACT or 1330 SAT
  • Submit this completed online application.

Please Note: There is not a separate application for the McClurg Scholarship. Completing the Premier and Prestige Scholarship Application will put you into consideration for the Hollingsworth, McClurg, and Christoverson Scholarships.

About the
McClurg Scholarship

C.V. McClurg was a well-respected member of the Lakeland community and president of the Peoples Savings Bank. Moving to Lakeland in 1923, he served as a city commissioner, circuit court judge, and mayor of Lakeland. In 1950 he was named honorary chancellor of »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË. Funded by the McClurg family, the C.V. McClurg Scholarship is awarded to first-year students in recognition of exceptional academic merit and covers full tuition and fees for four years of study.

The C.V. McClurg Scholarship is competitive and application is by invitation only. A committee composed of distinguished faculty will interview each candidate, selecting students based on their academic promise, leadership potential, character, and future goals.
