As a Business professor and practitioner of management, I believe it is important that every student has the opportunity to become an active and engaged learner. This type of learning involves the use of as many hands-on activities as possible in order to model the types of tasks and activities that can be expected during a career in Business. Through this active involvement, students gain essential skills that will enable them to achieve success.
Biography
Mr. Redman received his undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He received a M.S. in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate school and another M.S. in Management from the University of South Florida. Mr. Redman has significant doctoral level work in Computers and Information Technology from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Redman was trained and certified to teach Project Management by Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., a recognized international leader in Project Management. He joined the faculty at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË in 2011. His teaching interests are in Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Instructional Technology, Project Management for Information Technology, and Management. Mr. Redman served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy specializing in Surface Warfare and Marine Engineering, retiring in 1995. Since that time, he has dedicated his life to applying Information Technology in Higher Education, Business, and Government. As Director of Educational Technology, Mr. Redman pioneered the use of online and video teaching technologies at Saint Leo University. Mr. Redman spent ten years as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) where he led the District in consolidating data and increasing accessibility to the data for all stakeholders. As a Strategic Planner, Mr. Redman wrote Five Year Technology Plans that were pivotal to gaining Governing Board concurrence to pursue IT modernization at the District. Mr. Redman retired from SWFWMD in 2011.
