Message from the Dean
On behalf of »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË, welcome to Roux Library’s website. Whether you are a member of our college community or a guest, I hope that you will find our web resources useful.
The mission of Roux Library is to educate students in developing lifelong, critical information-seeking skills. We work with students in the library, through class-specific instructional sessions, and via the Web. The library and archives staff is committed to developing a library program with access to superlative information resources in direct support of the College’s mission and curriculum.
The library program also seeks to support a vibrant and active faculty. The librarians work closely with the college community through a library liaison program and through participation in various faculty committees.
Our participation also extends to the broader library community. Our interlibrary loan service enables our students and faculty to request us to borrow resources from over 40,000 libraries in 76 countries and territories in over 400 languages through the international network of the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC).
New for 2007 was TûTû’s Cyber Café on our first floor, which opened in January to great fanfare. The McKay Archives Center adjacent to Roux Library opened in February 2009.
To prospective students: we are pleased to answer any questions you have. When you are on campus, stop by for a tour, and ask for any of us by name.
To our students: we value your comments, and our services and collections are developed in part based on your requests. If you have questions about our resources and programs, please e-mail me: rmacdonald1@flsouthern.edu, contact me by phone at 863.680.4165, or stop by my office on the first floor of Roux Library.
Randall M. MacDonald
